Steamtec BFB plants
Steamtec BFB solution utilises biomass and recycled fuels in an efficient and environmentally friendly way. The BFB plant uses a water-tube type boiler with natural circulation, where the BFB grate is integrated into the pressure frame of the boiler. The reliable and low-maintenance construction can be utilised in both combined heat and power production (CHP) as well as in the production of district heat and process steam.
The Steamtec BFB plant range comprises seven standard power ranges between 5 and 100 MW. In addition, the solution can be tailored according to the customer’s needs. The Steamtec BFB solution allows the utilisation of very humid fuels without supportive combustion. For instance, the humidity of wood-based fuels can be 65 percent and that of milled peat even 70 percent. Typical fuels used in this solution are wood-based fuels (such as chips and sawdust) as well as milled and sod peat. In addition, waste and recycled fuels as well as various sludges can be used as secondary fuels.
