Kemijärven Kaukolämpö Oy
20 MW CHP plant
A new 20-MW CHP plant was delivered to Kemijärven Kaukolämpö Oy at the beginning of 2010. The plant was built next to the old heating plant in the immediate vicinity of the Kemijärvi centre.
The plant supplies almost 5 MW of electricity to the national electrical network and approximately 15 MW of district heat to the Kemijärvi centre.
The plant uses locally produced mill peat and wood-based fuels. The plant is based on state-of-the-art technical solutions that are designed to withstand arctic conditions for decades.
Vapor delivered a complete plant with turnkey delivery, apart from external fuel processing, turbine and foundation work. The existing bull chain conveyor station was transformed into a fuel reception station. From there, fuel is hoisted with the new bull chain conveyor into the day silo of the boiler. From the day silo, two feeder spouts feed the fuel through two balancing pockets inside the boiler.
